My classes

Classes and workshops vary in level from Professional to young training dancers as well as recreational classes for adults. Get in to touch below to find out more.

Contemporary floor work class

Over the last few years I have spent much of my spare time researching more and more into movement training and the conditioning required to enable dancers to grow. This has seen my classes and workshops evolve to have a strong focus on conditioning the body for what it is asked to do when working with the range of choreographers we find ourselves working with as dancers. I use a lot of tasks and challenges aimed at bringing awareness to the body challenging its stability and mobility and bringing attention to different ways to warm up and condition the body

This then develops towards an energetic floor work class, focusing on transferring weight, creating space in the body and looking into ways of using the floor to facilitate movement. Starting using gravity and using a horizontal state to mobilise the spine and find length in the body, drawing upon ideas and pathways used when standing and the similarities when transferring them to the floor.

This focus builds around a fast, dynamic yet technically detailed movement quality with an emphasis on where movement begins. Using efficient methods of moving to enable us to transition to and from the floor, preparing the body to develop strength and power and challenge new extremes when moving through space.

Ballet class

Using the ideals and the structure of ballet, my class looks to bring attention to freeing up the body, at the same time as conditioning it ready for the day ahead. The class has a strong emphasis on where movement begins and its connection to extremities. The barre is focused around grounding the body whilst creating and exploring the space within it so that, when approaching the centre, we can free up the pressure of searching for the aesthetic, and look more towards efficiency within our own body and how that can facilitate movement whilst challenging our strength, power, and fluidity within the form of ballet.

I felt like Aaron’s classes were so useful as supplementary training. It was a completely fresh perspective on how we should condition the body to help us be able to execute any choreographic demands. He was very engaging and made me challenge how I think about training my body”
